Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to making SevisPNG accessible to everyone

Our Commitment

SevisPNG is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all citizens of Papua New Guinea, including people with disabilities. We strive to provide an inclusive experience that allows everyone to participate in the digital identity ecosystem.

We believe that digital identity is a fundamental right, and we are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our services in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.

Accessibility Standards

SevisPNG aims to conform to the following standards:

  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA
  • Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act (as a reference standard)
  • PNG Government digital accessibility guidelines

These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more usable for everyone.

Accessibility Features

Our website and applications include the following accessibility features:

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements can be accessed and operated using only a keyboard.

Screen Reader Support

Content is structured with proper headings and ARIA labels for screen reader compatibility.

Color Contrast

Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratio requirements.

Resizable Text

Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.

Focus Indicators

Clear visual focus indicators help keyboard users track their position.

Alternative Text

Images include alternative text descriptions for users who cannot see them.

Inclusive Access Options

We recognize that not everyone has access to smartphones or high-speed internet. SevisPNG provides multiple ways to access services:

Smartphone App

Full-featured SevisWallet app with accessibility features for Android and iOS.

Registered Agents

Services available in English and Tok Pisin to serve PNG's diverse population.

SevisWallet App Accessibility

  • Dynamic text sizing respects system accessibility settings
  • High contrast mode support
  • Reduced motion option for users sensitive to animations
  • Biometric authentication alternatives (PIN backup)

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some limitations currently exist:

  • Some third-party content or embedded widgets may not be fully accessible
  • Biometric enrollment requires visual or touch interaction

We are actively working to address these limitations and improve accessibility across all aspects of our services.
